Opera Seme’s mission is to give singers and pianists an immersive Italian experience through language study, cultural exploration, lessons, coachings, masterclasses, special topics workshops, and performances.

Our Experiences
This intensive program is designed for university students studying opera, vocal performance, or piano seeking an intensive program to push yourself, step outside of your comfort zone, and catalyze your growth as a musician.
Our curriculum is designed to provide students with ample opportunities for hands-on learning and resume-building performance opportunities. All curriculum options include Italian language classes. All singers accepted into the program are guaranteed to perform an entire role.

4 full weeks on site, including 28 days lodging in Arezzo

Perform a full role in an Italian opera

Multiple performance opportunities accompanied by a live local orchestra

Broadway Jazz concert at the historic Teatro Petrarca in Arezzo

Voice Program

All singers accepted into the program are guaranteed to perform an entire mainstage opera role in a fully staged production.

Track 1: Voice Lessons track
6 technique lessons with a master voice teacher
3 Italian diction lessons with an Italian native speaker -
Track 2: Vocal Coaching track
6 audition and role preparation lessons with a coach accompanist
3 Italian diction lessons with an Italian native speaker

Twelve masterclasses on vocal technique, audition techniques, and career preparation

Guaranteed participation in at least 2 master classes

Weekly special topics workshops on topics such as acting technique, Commedia dell’arte, voice science, career preparation, Bel Canto repertoire and style
Piano Program

Two weekly repertoire and Italian language coachings with coaching faculty

One weekly voice lesson with voice faculty

Give four weekly observed coachings to program singers with feedback from coaching faculty

Play two masterclasses with feedback from coaching faculty

Play opera rehearsals and performances as assigned, with many opportunities to coach
